What's your business, and who are your customers?
Striptease Houston teaches women the art of seduction, pole dance, exotic dance, and burlesque. Our customers are women who need to build more confidence, want to learn to be sexier, want to reignite the fire in their relationships, are newly divorced, are getting married, or just want a fun way to celebrate their birthdays or events.
Tell us about yourself
I have loved to dance ever since I was in elementary school. In my teens and early 20s, I started modeling and gogo dancing. One day my close friends asked if I could show them some moves so they could do them on their husbands, and when I did, they loved it. They then told me I should teach it as a profession. So that's how Striptease Houston got started. I get calls, texts, and reviews from many women thanking me for changing their self-esteem and also their lives. That is what motivates me to continue doing what I've been doing.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
My biggest accomplishment as a business owner is being able to affect people's lives since 2002, and we are still going strong.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
The hardest thing is staying motivated because, at a point in time, most business owners can get burned out. But a little TLC for yourself can bring you back. It can also be hard to market your business and distinguish yourself from the already saturated market, which we do through our personal and customized one-on-one private sessions.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Stop dreaming and start doing.
- Stop doubting yourself and letting fear stop you.
- You have to be consistent and put in the work.
Is there anything else you'd like to share?
Dancing is a form of self-love. You feel free expressing yourself, and it can make you feel better and look better. Touch base with your femininity!
