Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Neena Perez, Show Host Speaker of Straight Talk No Sugar Added, located in Norwalk, CA, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

I help women “Master Their G.A.M.E.” (Goals, Accountability, Mind-Flow, Energy) by building a successful business and the impactful life they envision. We create their step-by-step roadmap, and our team will build out their funnel, software, and marketing automation to create a steady flow of clients and the income they need to succeed. I am with them as long as they need me as their sounding board!

Tell us about yourself

I am a coach, entrepreneur, author, speaker, podcaster, and chef. I use all I have been through to encourage and impact lives one at a time. I have written my autobiography called “Hit Me With Your Best Shot” - How I Overcame A Hard Hitting Life, which is a story of abuse, teen pregnancy, domestic violence, abortion, hard times, divorce, poverty, finding faith, overcoming and hitting life back when life hits us hard.

Encountering and facing many challenges has made me the woman I am today, determined, strong, and full of faith in God. I started my own YouTube / Podcast called Straight Talk No Sugar Added to impact others using my story and the story of other people that have overcome it. The goal is to encourage, support, love, and lead people to be their best selves by challenging and transforming their thinking.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Some of the biggest accomplishments as a business owner have been the impact that I’ve seen in women’s lives! Coaching women has been the biggest joy. I have been asked to speak at a few events where I talked deeply about a woman’s worth and the power of forgiveness and overcoming shame so that they can build the life and business that they have within them.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

One of the hardest things that come with being a business owner is learning to have grace for yourself. Understanding that you get up every day doing the best you can and you may fail at some things.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. You don’t need to know everything to start a business. Just know you can start where you are, and lots of things you will figure out along the way.
  2. Find a good coach, mentor, or friend who has done it already so that you have a great partner to help you strategize.
  3. Be very excited when you fail! Failure is an amazing part of this journey. Failure is feedback, and you will be wiser for it!!
