Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in health and wellness but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Susan Ginsberg, Founder of Stop and Breathe, LLC, located in Scottsdale, AZ, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

I am the founder/CEO of Stop & Breathe®, a wellness company in which I help others live a healthier, more meaningful life. I provide corporate wellness workshops and 1:1 individual wellness support via healthy breathing, relaxation/visualization techniques, and intentional living guidance. I provide these sessions and workshops both live and virtually via Zoom or any other format.

Tell us about yourself

An educator many years ago, I began teaching yoga/meditation in 2001. I realized that the breathing, relaxation, and visualizations that I taught my students could benefit the mainstream population. I first brought these tools to my local hospital and cancer center, and then shortly afterward, I branched out to the corporate world and even had the opportunity to provide a workshop to the US Marines Corp in Quantico, DC! I now work with many companies and organizations providing stress management-related workshops, and I also love working 1:1 with my individual clients.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Moving locations twice (Chicago to Austin and then Austin to Scottsdale) and having customers find me online and organically was a challenge. Leaving a strong clientele behind and starting over wasn't a simple task, but I knew that what I was providing was so beneficial.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

The hardest thing about being a business owner is networking, advertising, and posting on social media in a meaningful way that is genuine to who I am as an individual.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Once you have done your homework and believe in your product or service, have the confidence to put yourself out there.
  2. If you fall, welcome to the club. We ALL fall. Get up and start anew.
  3. Surround yourself with a team of other professionals that are mutually supportive. Your tribe is so important!
