What's your business, and who are your customers?
My business is an academy and a Beauty Salon that offers training in beauty services like eyelashes extensions, lash lifts, body contouring, etc., to anyone interested in becoming a lash technician or starting in the beauty industry. We also offer our customers all kinds of beauty services, like microblading, eyelashes extension, facials, waxing, etc.
Tell us about yourself
I first started as an inhalotherapeute at the hospital, but it was not what I wanted to continue doing for the rest of my life; too much stress, working the night shift, sometimes day shift. I decided to take a break from that and try something else. So I started lashing, home-based, and I loved that I could manage my time by working part-time, sometimes full time, and having time for my family. The clientele started growing after a few months, so I decided to rent a small place to offer more services and get more customers.
After one year, I decided to move to a bigger place and open an academy to give a chance to other people to discover this amazing profession of lashing and as well as a beauty salon to offer different services with a nice a big team. Seeing my customers following me from when I was home to my new location is a big motivation as I will always do my best to offer the best of me.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
I started with a dream of having my own business, and the dream became true!
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Having more responsibilities to manage.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Dream big, and never be afraid to achieve it; life is a big risk, so take the risk and be confident that the impossible is possible.
- Make a plan of every step you will take.
- Don't be shy/snob to ask those who have more experience than you.
