What's your business, and who are your customers?

SMB Media Consulting is a flexible talent solution driven to change how agencies, brands, and publishers receive media expertise and services. SMB's purpose is to assimilate into teams to make advertising and digital media accessible for all so anyone can achieve their performance goals.

Tell us about yourself

Stefanie Beach, a digital marketing expert, desired a career outside the confined structure of a standard 9-5 job to be a more present parent to her daughter. As a result, Stefanie took on freelance work while job-hunting for a part-time, partially remote role. It wasn't until she started speaking with agencies and brands about their business needs and open positions that she realized the solution was presenting itself to her. Agencies and brands needed her expertise, but many did not have the resources or flexible timeline to hire and onboard talent. This experience sparked the creation of SMB Media Consulting. Founded in 2018, SMB Media Consulting provides digital media talent solutions that seamlessly integrate businesses with digital media needs.

When the pandemic hit early 2020, Stefanie found opportunity within the hardship. Her vision of work-life balance, which SMB Media Consulting was built on, experienced its next growth phase. Stefanie employed subject matter experts desiring the same work-life balance. She also captured the interest of agencies and brands with a new challenge, a shift in consumers shopping entirely online with next to no store foot traffic. Since then, SMB Media Consulting's team of on-hand media experts has grown its service list five times to support its client's needs. SMB's client portfolio includes agencies, brands, and publishers such as Foreign Affairs, Elevate Nutrition, Bloomist, IBM Watson/The Weather Channel,, The Home Depot, Apple, and more.

SMB Media Consulting is a true extension of their client's teams and, by doing so, alleviates marketing and performance stressors, so every client interaction starts and ends with "we're so glad you are here to help."

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment is starting this business and being successful. When I say successful, I mean things like being able to hire other team members, being able to build out my brand message, and driving over 300% growth YOY.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Knowing that what you decide is the right thing. It is hard making all of the decisions, especially alone, and learning from your mistakes.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

Don't take everything personally. Network as much as you can! Have confidence.
