What's your business, and who are your customers?

Spicy Champloo is a traditional and digital art business, plus a clothing brand. Serving unique individuals who appreciate the love of fresh style and influence of Japanese culture.

Tell us about yourself

I’ve always loved art, being a self-taught artist. When I first wanted to create my brand, I dedicated my logo to my first dog Pippa. When he passed unexpectedly, I knew I had to keep him alive by growing my business everyday. Pushing out art that is meaningful to me is very important and keeps me motivated to always create.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

I would say my biggest accomplishment as a business owner is that my art lives on and is passed on to people who will cherish it forever.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

The hardest part of being a business owner is if anything goes wrong, it’s up to me to fix it. It’s like being a parent. No matter what goes on, it’s my baby, and I have to nurture and take care of it for as long as I want it around. It takes a lot of hard work and responsibility to run a successful business. If it was easy, everyone would do it.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

Be consistent, stay original, and don’t let obstacles stop you from grinding to where you need to be.
