Easy and delicious - Sorry I've Got Plants

Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in food and beverage but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Conor Harold, founder of Sorry I've Got Plants, located in Toronto, Canada.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

Our business tries to cut through all the BS and just focusses on making plant based eating as easy and delicious as possible. We do not promote a diet. We just believe that when it comes to making a difference every plate counts and that 5 people eating 20% more plants equals 1 person eating 100% so we focus on just the total number of plant based meals being eating, vegan or not.

Tell us about yourself

I started a blog when I went vegan to just share my journey. I actually got vegan tattooed on me and then forced myself to eat that way. The blog grew and I decided the best way to share recipes was meal kits. I think our competitors are unnecessarily wasteful and I thought we could do it better, and we do.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

That we still have people who have been eating with us since the day we started.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

When you realize the number of people who depend on you for their lives to function. The responsibility is a heavy weight to carry. Also if something does go wrong there is no where to shift blame because at the end of the day it lays with you.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

1. Focus on customer over competition.

2. Ideas count for nothing it is all in the execution.

3. There is no substitute for hard work.

Anything else you'd like to share?

Profit is only part of the equation not the primary goal of business. Your business should make profit and provide value for the people who use it and for the people who work for it, or at least that's why I believe.
