What's your business, and who are your customers?
Smooth Aesthetics is a mobile IV hydration, Botox/Fillers, and Wellness company. Most of our customers are healthy individuals who want to be healthier. Using IV Vitamins, hormones, or even botox, our clients are looking and feeling their very best.
Tell us about yourself
Smooth Aesthetics is the brainchild of my wife, Dr. Aarti Leyva. She wanted to start a botox and hangover IV business, but as the world changed, COVID, and we started meeting new people, we changed our IV plans to focus more on wellness. We added hormone replacement to our services because we were both patients, and hormone replacement made us feel so good. We work with a lot of people that aren't satisfied with becoming old and are willing to invest in their own health.
What motivates me every day is our clients. Many of our clients use our services regularly, so this has allowed us to build relationships with them, so when we see them, it's like visiting a friend. I really do meet the most interesting people (not just celebrities and professional athletes), so my job is always a lot of fun.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Being platinum sponsors for the Ferrell Foundation for the last three years in a row. (FF is a nonprofit that helps raise money for cancer research).
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
What I find to be really hard is managing all the tasks that need to be done. Coming from the hospital world prior gave me the tools to be able to manage projects, but as a small business owner, I need to do almost everything myself. I have, however, met other business owners who have been incredibly helpful to our business with which we would not have the success today.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
Start off with a clear vision of who you are and what you are about.
Is there anything else you'd like to share?
It was a blessing to be able to have this established business prior to COVID. Many health companies shut down their businesses due to fear. We went ahead and decided to help persons with COVID with immune-boosting vitamins and fluid, and the response we got from the community was extremely positive. Though we were no longer in the hospital working, we helped our community differently. Many were told to go home (especially in the beginning) and, if they felt worse, to come back. Our business gave these people an opportunity to take their health into their own hands.
