What's your business, and who are your customers?

I began my career as an emergency room doctor in Canada who was constantly working long hours. Fast forward to where we are now, and our business is making great tasting, healthy, easy, affordable & functional food (food that has health benefits beyond just good nutrition). Our customers are people who care about their health and want to eat healthy, delicious food but don't have the time to do meal preparation. As I like to say, we make the healthiest food that is faster and more affordable than fast food!

Tell us about yourself

I was a fat emergency room Doctor and started my own journey into healthy eating and weight loss but didn't have the time to prepare meals. I wanted and needed something fast and healthy. I wake up every morning with the realism and energy to get people to eat healthier and lose weight because I know how miserable I felt when I was overweight and eating poorly.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

I have helped thousands of patients lose weight, reverse diabetes, and multiple diseases. I have personally taken hundreds of patients off Insulin because they didn't need it once they lost weight and started eating healthier, with more fiber and less sugar-based in our products. I also have multiple patients who got pregnant once they lost weight after they were told that their chances of having children were very low.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Managing people, people management is the hardest. I am not a sensitive person, but I know most people are very sensitive, but you have to tell people the truth, both if they are overweight or if they are performing their job poorly. I try to be direct without hurting people's feelings. That is difficult.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

Make sure you are going to love the new venture. If you love it, you will put the time and energy into it. Hire the right people and fire the wrong people fast, do not be afraid to terminate poor-performing people. Make a great product or service. You can't fool the client. They are smart and will gravitate to the best, more affordable product or service.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

The company we created is a new kind of food company that makes functional, fast food in the forms of cookies, bars, and more. This is a new category in the food industry. Find out about it as this will change your life!!!
