What's your business, and who are your customers?
Skysail Solutions is focused on providing best-in-class, cost-effective payment processing solutions that enable business owners to enhance their customer experience while focusing on reducing their operating costs to grow their business.
Tell us about yourself
My name is Cody Cole, and I am a managing member of Skysail Solutions. Being a business owner had always been a goal of mine, but I didn't know what type of business I wanted to open. My father is a small business owner, and I myself have worked for multiple small businesses. From this experience, I was able to learn the inner working of business and what it takes to be successful. Being in the merchant services industry gives me the opportunity to work with a wide variety of business types and help the types of businesses that I'm so familiar with.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Just recently, Skysail Solutions was able to save one of our merchants over 33% of their monthly credit card processing costs. Placing the right solutions for our merchants while providing them with the most aggressive pricing is our primary goal.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
The hardest thing that comes with being a business owner is work/life balance. It's easy to get caught up in the day-to-day operations, but some of your most creative ideas will come to you in a moment that has nothing to do with your business at all. Make sure you give yourself personal time to enjoy everything you've worked so hard for.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Under promise, over deliver.
- Set realistic expectations for your customers.
- Do not oversell a customer just to close the deal.
