Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in health and fitness but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Brenna Doyle, Founder of Six Foot Fit, located in Cary, NC, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

We are Six Foot Fit - The Antigym of the Triangle! We are a group of misfits, kind souls, and free thinkers who are looking to meet people are sweat together. The Antigym is for you if you really would like to get in better shape but find the regular gym/franchise studios boring, uneventful, and hard to socialize. Come hang out with us to get in a FUN and incredible workout in Cary while also meeting new people you'll socialize with outside of class too! A lot of the gyms in Cary are a variation of the exact same thing, and we aim to provide something that is deeper.

Tell us about yourself

I get motivated every day by my mission to raise consciousness in the fitness industry. The industry as it is is boring, surface level, and basic...as adults, we don't have enough fun. We bring the fun so you can feel lighter throughout your day. I started Six Foot Fit in March 2020 after being laid off from a corporate fitness studio and knew I had a huge opportunity to really make an impact.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Building a company where we out-care our competition is my greatest accomplishment. We excel in the little things, and they don't go unnoticed. There is a difference between group fitness and working out together. We workout TOGETHER!

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

Working on cleaning up boundaries with my personal life and my business, you have to learn how to have an "off switch."

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Make sure you are doing mindset work yourself. This is something that has grounded me throughout the whole process, and it's so important. You can't build a business from a shaky foundation- it won't last.
  2. People > profit, and you'll always win.
  3. Have people to lean on that want to see you succeed. Make sure you have people in your circle that are also ambitious and working towards their dreams. If you don't, reach out to me! I will be one of your people. :)
