Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Martin Greif, President of SiteTuners LLC, located in Tampa, FL, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

We improve the relationship between businesses and their customers by simplifying digital interactions and becoming relentless advocates for our
client's clients. Our customers are business owners who are not happy with their rate of growth and want to increase their revenue. They know they have a problem but don't know how to fix it or have run out of ideas about what to do to improve CRO.

Tell us about yourself

I started my journey in CRO more than 25 years ago. During all those years, I dedicated myself to learning the ins and outs of Conversion Rate Optimization and how to overcome conversion barriers. In 2013, I joined SiteTuners, and since then, I have brought the lessons I've learned these past years to my team and clients.

As an entrepreneur, I feel very tuned to other entrepreneurs' needs. I'd like to see all of our clients win and achieve the success they deserve. This is how we develop long-lasting relationships. They are the reason behind what my team and I do.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

It's simple. Having a team that I am proud of. We have exceptional people who are dedicated to helping our clients succeed. And we don't forget each other. We help everyone to succeed. This leads to a happy, motivated team!

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Finding the right team of people is truly the hardest. That's why the interview process is so important. Over the years, I've been told to hire slowly and fire fast. The hire part is easy. The fire-fast part breaks my heart, and I tend to give team members multiple chances to succeed. Rarely does this make a difference, and it still breaks my heart. However, because I put the team first, I can sleep at night knowing that I work hard to make everyone successful. In the end, it's all about being able to trust and delegate tasks so I can focus on how to grow the business.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Put your customers' needs to the front. Above all, business owners should keep in mind that their businesses are not about them: it's about their customers. If they solve their problems, you will solve your own problems too.
  2. Embrace change, keep updating yourself, surround yourself with the right people, and don't let fear paralyze you.
  3. Expect to be wrong over 50% of the time. Don't fret about the mistakes
just move on with what you learn from making them.
