Tell us about yourself

I am a physician who has been advising and investing in healthcare startups with potential that excites me. I am building my current startup, Sirica Therapeutics, for individuals like my daughter, who have autism. This mission keeps me going every day!

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Starting and running the largest physician innovation platform, InnovatorMD, which helps improve the healthcare of patients and working conditions for doctors.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

As a small business owner and a healthcare startup, you are juggling so many roles. And you can't afford to hire people for all the roles you play.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Make sure you are in a good place physically, emotionally, and financially before you start.
  2. Take your time as you build your startup, and take calculated risks while de-risking.
  3. Get advice from a few trusted folks who have been there, and then you do your thing.
