What's your business, and who are your customers?
We are Sing Along Princess Parties, a Bucks County-based children's entertainment company specializing in birthday parties and private events.
Tell us about yourself
I hold my BFA in musical theatre arts from Point Park University, and I pursued a career on stage straight out of college. After working several "survival jobs," I decided to start my own princess party business. It all started with one costume and took off from there! What motivates me each day is seeing the reactions of the children we get to surprise! There truly is nothing like walking into a party knowing you are creating a lasting memory for their family.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
My biggest accomplishment as a business owner is the ability to employ young actors who are pursuing careers in the industry. It is the joy of my life to be able to give them performance opportunities while they are auditioning!
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
For me, it was finally realizing I needed to ask for help when things started to get very busy. I was scheduling, packing the party bags and costumes, caring for the costumes/wigs, and attending the parties. The minute I asked for help, the people in my circle surrounded me with so much love and encouragement!
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Be willing to learn something new every day.
- Listen to the people on your team. Some of your best work will come from them.
- Be kind to yourself.
