Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Simonne Lee, Founder of Simstarse Pty, Ltd., located in Sydney, NSW, AU.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

My business is all about rewriting our patterns, habits, and mindsets with a bit of energy alchemy thrown in. It's aligning our mind, heart, and body + energy to support who we are, our dreams, and our everyday reality.

My clients are women who have excelled in one aspect of their lives, but there has been a price to pay, and emotional burnout is part of their rollercoaster. These women have strong careers but find their personal lives feel empty as they've lost that connection within themselves, and their inner joy and peace are always at arm's length.

Tell us about yourself

I strongly believe that your daily habits and your everyday thoughts create your reality, and I learned this from my youth. I grew up with mum as a single parent and was quite an anxious child, always people-pleasing to feel a sense of safety and belonging.

Mental health wasn't a topic of discussion in those days, and you just had to persevere and push through, which to my mum's credit, she did just that. As I moved into my 20s, I travelled the world for 7 years to experience different cultures and people, which was truly enriching. When I came back home, there were many discussions about depression and anxiety, and I decided to learn how to change and manage it differently. What we think and how we feel are just old habits, and if we do this absentmindedly, then we repeat experiences and patterns from the past. Here is where triggers are activated.

If we take the time each day to reframe our thoughts and shift our feelings to what state we want more of, we are retraining ourselves on all levels, especially our nervous system, and that is my daily motivation! This is foundational for me.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

One of my biggest accomplishments is seeing how my clients trust me and the process of changing their lives, and simply witnessing this amazing shift in their world. My other accomplishment that I'm proud of is creating a program and teaching this to other coaches (using hypnotherapy, NLP, and energy work as part of the program) to help them help their clients.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Learning the backend of the business and initially wearing all hats, even the ones I didn't have skills for but learned along the way, e.g., bookkeeping, marketing, etc., but now I hire others to do this.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Really know if you're able to create a structure that you follow through on.
  2. Understand how to motivate yourself daily.
  3. KEEP GOING even when it gets tough.
