What's your business, and who are your customers?
Helping organisations, including start-ups, and their leaders get the best from their people and focus on what delivers success through speaking, masterclasses, and mentoring.
Tell us about yourself
I've had leadership experience in the military, business, and government, much of it developing senior leaders, for example, Global Head of Leadership at UBS, now part of a Harvard Case study. In government, it was from London Underground to UK National Health Service. Having such wide experience revealed there are consistent actions both leaders and their organisations can take which will optimise their success. Helping people achieve this is why I started my business, and seeing them do so inspires me every day when success and personal growth change lives for the better.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
I have received recognition from my professional colleagues, being listed as one of HRs Most Influential Thinkers 10 times in annual awards, a record, being invited to become a Companion of the CMI, the highest honor of the UK management & leadership professional body, appointed Hon Visiting Professor of Transformational Leadership is great but above all, it's knowing that in some way I have helped over 20,000 leaders in over 600 organisations across the world become better in a way which positively impacts their lives.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
It's keeping going when times are tough and not losing faith in what you do and why - your purpose. To do this, just focus on how much you have achieved in your past, and if you believe and don't quit, you will win in the end.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Have an inspiring vision - that inspires not just you but others.
- Deliver something people really need and have a great plan to do it.
- Find a good mentor and always ask for feedback to help you improve.
