Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in health and wellness but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Lindsay Sudell, founder and CEO of Simply Stretch LA, located in Venice, CA, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

My name is Lindsay Sudell, and I am the owner/founder and CEO of Simply Stretch LA (www.SimplyStretchLA.com) and The Mobility MasterClass (www.TheMobilityMasterClass.com). Simply Stretch LA is an innovative manual therapy clinic in Venice, California, specializing in improving how your body moves and feels. At Simply Stretch LA, I utilize the industry's leading manual therapy techniques, including Fascial Stretch Therapy, Graston Technique & Active Release Techniques, to reduce pain, improve mobility, restore impaired function, and enhance recovery and optimize athletic performance.

I work with various clients ranging from chronic pain sufferers to weekend warriors and even the world’s leading professional athletes. The Mobility MasterClass is my very own all-encompassing Online Mobility Program that helps people take advantage of my services from anywhere in the world, at their own pace, from the comfort of their own homes.

Tell us about yourself

I was frustrated with the limitations presented by the traditional medical model and always wanted to open my own private practice. In 2016 I took the leap from traditional Occupational Therapy practices, opened Simply Stretch LA, and never looked back. Helping clients live happy, healthy, active lives and doing the things they love without pain inspires me each and every day.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment as a business owner is not only surviving but thriving during the COVID lockdowns in Los Angeles. During this time, many business owners in Los Angeles lost everything, but I was fortunate enough to be able to pivot and bring The Mobility MasterClass to fruition and broaden my reach in helping people not only in LA but all over the globe.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

One of the hardest things that come with being a business owner is balancing business, life, family, and everything in between. Efficiency is the name of the game. It is essential that you quickly identify your strengths and weaknesses and hire people who excel at your weaknesses to help you in those areas. Burnout is real, and setting work/life boundaries is difficult and absolutely essential.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Stay passionate.
  2. Put your mental health first to avoid burnout.
  3. Persistency is key.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?
