What's your business, and who are your customers?
I run a creative marketing agency that helps people go from idea to real-life business. My customers are aspiring and existing business owners that want a solid marketing foundation and are looking for a partner to help them launch and grow. I offer a variety of services, from branding and logo design to website development, content creation, and social media management, to design and advertising.
Tell us about yourself
I've always been an entrepreneur at heart and got started on my first venture during college. I launched a healthcare technology startup with little funding, which pushed me to learn and manage all marketing for our business. From this venture, many other businesses in my community consulted with me for marketing support. This was the inception of Simpy Branded. Since then, I have been helping businesses with marketing strategy and execution and have never looked back. I love being part of a founder's journey to success and working with so many unique businesses. My favorite aspect of what I do is seeing passionate business owners grow their businesses while working together.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Helping over 100 entrepreneurs go from idea to reality or scaling their existing business and revenue.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
One of the hardest things as a passionate business owner is knowing when to say no and staying focused on the end goal. In businesses like mine, you receive many unique requests. As a new business owner, you are more likely to accept business regardless of alignment with your goals and business, but over the years, I've learned that it's better to say no to some clients/work if it doesn't align with your goals, your values, or your bank account.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Truly understand your customers and the market before investing heavily in the business, your time, or your money.
- Building the right team is key. Invest in people that are passionate and will help you grow.
- Stay focused and make decisions based on data rather than emotion.
