Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in business development but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Simona Ksoll, Founder of Simona Ksoll Coaching & Consulting, located in Aventura, FL, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

I am a business consultant and mindset mentor for high-achieving women over 40 who are radically reinventing themselves in their next chapter.

Tell us about yourself

My own catalyst for change was when my husband of fifteen years left our marriage. My world crumbled. I had a prestigious career at a big Hollywood movie studio, and all of a sudden, it felt like the carpet was ripped out from under me. For a while, I lived in the twilight zone. When the fog started to clear, I took a sabbatical from work and went to the Mexican Riviera to do yoga teacher training. One morning sitting on a rooftop coming out of a meditation overlooking the gorgeous Caribbean Sea, eyes wide open, I heard a voice telling me: "Simona, you have to move here." At that moment, I knew that this was what I wanted to do next. I felt it in every single cell of my body. Immediately, my mind went to, 'How is this ever going to happen?' Enter the Universe: We were five women in training; one was a master coach. I started to work with her, and she opened the first door to the HOW. Two mentors and countless training programs later, I made my move and have never looked back. What motivates me every day to do what I do is honoring the privilege of what I get to do. I get to guide amazing women to make their vision their reality and be part of how much their decision to reinvent themselves impacts the lives of thousands of people. That, to me, is still mindblowing. That we all are important pieces of the puzzle to make this world a better place. That is what drives and motivates me every single day to do what needs to get done that day.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Seeing my clients succeed because they believe in themselves. When that book gets published, that business launches successfully, they create a new amazing life in a new country, when those speaking engagements come in when that big sale happens for a client when they do something that they previously weren't able to do, and it clicks for them how extraordinary they've always been, and they own it, that's what accomplishment means to me.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Getting comfortable with being uncomfortable. All the things you have to do to make it happen, like asking for the money for your services, putting yourself out there every day, and taking imperfect action. Initially, those were the hardest things for me, and now I understand that is just part of the deal.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Be willing to get uncomfortable.
  2. Know your worth.
  3. Be you. Authenticity will get your further than trying to follow a successful formula some guru is peddling, and don't stop. Expect failure and look at it as a learning how to do better next time.
