What's your business, and who are your customers?
Silent Noise Consulting is a boutique music consulting firm. We help artists, music labels, and brands reach their goals through customized strategy plans, artist development, and management.
Tell us about yourself
I'm a Marketing & Music Business Professional that has consulted and managed many recording artists and executives over the years. I'm also a college professor and Director of Marketing at an Artist Development organization. I started Silent Noise Consulting with my industry colleague, Jamal Mobley, who is also an artist manager and A&R Consultant. We decided to join forces to offer those within the industry well-rounded support to help them reach the next level in their careers. Our passion for music is what motivates us to do what we do daily.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
My personal biggest accomplishment as a business owner was securing Beyonce's dad and former manager, Mathew Knowles, as a client. I worked with him for about two years, helping solidify his personal brand, creative directing his online presence and book artwork, and marketing his roster of artists at his record label.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
The hardest thing that comes with being a business owner is working with people who don't take constructive criticism well. People hire us to help them improve. If they don't take our advice, then it makes our jobs much more difficult.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
