What's your business, and who are your customers?
Sho' Stoppa Party Bus is a chauffeur service company that offers our clients the party vibe with the VIP treatment. Being a transportation provider, the client provides us with their unique, personal itinerary and time frame desired. In return, we guarantee a safe atmosphere to drink without driving, create great memories with friends, and listen to whatever tunes you like. Now that's what we call the "Sho' Stoppa Experience!!".
Tell us about yourself
I'm the first Black-Woman-owned Party Bus company in Houston for six years and counting. Sho' Stoppa Party Bus was birthed from three-year savings and not knowing what to do with the monies. I wanted to create a safe space for anyone to feel like SOMEONE!! Where the is didn't matter because you, the client, set the tone for the event. Our motto is, "Get on the Bus with US to be the STAR you Are!!"
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Turning an idea into a Reality and creating job opportunities is the ultimate achievement as a business owner. The Beauty of Success is being attentive to your client's needs and executing beyond their expectations. Word of Mouth through their personal experience is Priceless...True story my mom was out partying and overheard a woman telling someone that her friend had a Party Bus and how she couldn't wait for her birthday so she could rent the bus. My mom walked over and asked the woman what the name of the company and Oh Yeah!! It was Sho' Stoppa Party Bus-- Word of Mouth still exists, but the point is It felt good to be in a room without being present, and my mom got to witness it!!
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
When you are in the trenches and figuring out the how-to, it keeps me creative, but buying back your time is the other side of the coin. Learning to delegate duties to other strong and suitable people for the position. Trusting that the job will be handled in the most professional manner as if this were their business.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- That urge you have is the fuel for you to hit the gas pedal Now and Fast.
- Don't let the business die when you expire. Reach 1 Teach 1.
- A True Boss measures success by how many people are successful next to you (Jay Z).
