Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with LaQueshia Jeffries, Founder of Sherrod & Muse Books, located in Fort Worth, TX, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

I help professional women write books that share their expertise and amplify their brand.

Tell us about yourself

I’ve always been a reader and a writer, but I was waiting to “be chosen” by an agent or a publishing house. When I finally decided to self-publish, it was so liberating. I decided to help other women do the same in their stories and create another stream of income.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

I’ve helped three brilliant women bring their ideas from a document to a professionally published book to share with their audiences.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

One of the hardest things about being in business is knowing what to delegate and what must be done by you. I think too many of us do unnecessary tasks for far too long.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Don’t pressure your business to be your income source.
  2. Find community right away. You need people who understand and are equally yoked.
  3. Focus on one fantastic good or service initially. You can expand later.

Where can people find you and your business?
