Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in health and wellness but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Sherri Mack, Founder of Holistic Caring & The Green Nurse, located in Palm Springs, CA, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

I founded The Green Nurse® in 2016 to serve patients and health professionals new to cannabis in Boston, MA. My passion for the plant emerged after saving my own life and working tirelessly to save others' time and money in their cannabis journey. I'm proud to have created the 4x-award-winning Green Nurse podcast, which inspires and educates listeners.

Elisabeth Mack, RN, BSN, MBA, founded Holistic Caring® in 2016 to serve patients new to cannabis and educate health professionals in San Diego, CA. Her training manual for nurses became a book, and she created robust online programs to train all healthcare professionals to smartly practice medicinal cannabis therapeutics.

In 2021, we merged our businesses to unite our complementary skill sets and better serve the modern global audience. Today, through our Nurse Line, Consulting, and Educational Programs, we inspire and support the adoption of cannabinoids as catalysts for better health and well-being. We aim to educate and empower patients to make choices that are best for them, teaching about the endocannabinoid system and the safe utilization of cannabis as medicine.

Tell us about yourself

I am a leading force in the burgeoning cannabis industry as a nurse, patient, advocate, and activist. I serve as the Chief Nursing Officer and VP of Nursing at Holistic Caring & Founder of The Green Nurse. With over 30 years of extensive nursing skills from the conventional system as a medical center specialist, clinical nurse liaison, and educator, I aim to bridge the gap between patients, traditional medical systems, and the cannabis community. I also mentor and educate other nurses and health professionals on the ECS and the safe utilization of cannabis at dispensaries, hospitals, clinics, and cannabis events, seminars, and expos the world over. Currently, I am a consultant, educator, and formulator for Cannim America, and I recently launched LumirClinic.com to carry forward the work of Holistic Caring & The Green Nurse to a global audience.

I earned my Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Boston College, and I am a founding member of the Cannabis Nurses Network and International Association of Psychedelic Nurses. I also serve on the editorial advisory board for Cannabis RX Magazine and the Board of Directors for the American Cannabis Nurses Association. Additionally, I am a contributing author in the first cannabis nursing textbook, Carey S. Clarks' Handbook for Nurses. I host a three-time award-winning podcast – The Green Nurse Podcast, sharing compelling stories of healing and decreasing stigma around using plants as medicine. Moreover, I am one of the cast members of HIGH Science, a documentary on Cannabis currently being filmed and scheduled to air sometime this year.
