What's your business, and who are your customers?
My business is a multi-faceted Complementary and Alternative Medicine practice offering Holistic Life and Mind-Body Coaching, Hypnosis (QHHT), Reiki, and Holistic Nutrition (coming soon). My clients are those who feel stuck in life, feeling lost and uncertain, going through major life changes, and suffering from health and emotional issues. They are ready to take control of their lives and make changes so that they can feel their best —mind, body, spirit, and emotions.
Tell us about yourself
From a young age, I've always known my purpose in life is to help others. Nothing made me feel quite as good as when I was helping someone better themselves or their life somehow in some way. I kept hearing people tell me I should be a life coach, but I never took them seriously. Years passed, and life took me through many difficult twists and turns. It finally got to the point where I couldn't ignore my calling any longer and took the chance. I've been in corporate America for 25 years, and the very thought of transitioning from corporate America to opening up my own healing practice was frightening. But I did anyway, and now here I am. Helping others in ways, I could not have imagined!
I'm motivated by the transformation I see in my clients because it has a ripple effect. Not only do they feel the best they've ever felt, but their loved ones also experience the change too. They show up for themselves and others differently—happier, more positive, vibrant. Also, my client's transformation inspires others to do the same for themselves when they invest in their healing and EVERYONE's benefits.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
My biggest accomplishment was answering my calling even when the path was not laid out and no business experience in the field (I spent my entire career in corporate America). I jumped, and the net appeared in ways of people and situations that helped me to develop and launch my business. I felt the fear and did it anyway. What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
One of the hardest things that come with being a SOLOpreneur is keeping up with all the moving parts and having to be a maverick with the different hats you have to wear. You are the bookkeeper, marketing, HR, social media, etc. WHILE doing the actual practice of your business.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Make certain it is your PURPOSE, not just a passion. Your purpose will allow you to work long hours, yet you will not feel drained.
- Keep your goals and vision private. Let your actual business speak for itself.
- Have a mentor that's already successful in your field. They will FAST TRACK your success.
