Sheridonna Designs LLC is a 5-star Premier business and is highly recommended by locals. S.D Specialize in Streetwear, Custom Couture Designs, and Accessories for kings and Queens. When looking for Bridal, Wedding, Prom, Graduation, or Birthday garments that stand out from the crowd, Sheridonna Designs is your one-stopshop in the Washington D.C area for Fashionistas.
Tell us about yourself
Sheridonna Designs LLC was created by Sheridonna Fiona Wilson to bring a new vibe to the clothing industry by targeting a younger generation looking for a fresh image. Born in Kingston, Jamaica, Sheridonna had a challenging upbringing, having moved to the U.S because of the sudden death of her father, Errol Lee Wilson. This has provided her with a well-cultured background that has successfully harnessed into her brand. Sheridonna Designs LLC is responsible for thoughtful, Custom Designs and unique prints that set the brand apart from its competition.
Sheridonna decided to start Sheridonna Designs because she saw a gap and needed to show our future Queens and kings how to dress with style and grace without compromising their style and integrity. As Sheridonna was growing up, she always used to mix and match different designer clothing to create her style because no one had her personal style. Sheridonna said I want to wear clothing that is unique and can express my personality and fashion every day. I want to have salon hair every day and look fabulous because my mom Doreen Chambers didn't know how to do hair. My dad always called me his Princess, so I am a descendent of Royalty. With this mentality, Sheridonna said that I would do my own hair when I grow up. So as a young twenty-something young lady, Sheridonna started on her vision and went to cosmetology school in Syracuse, New York, and became a hairstylist and salon owner. Sheridonna is now the owner of Sheridonna's Beauty Salon. Sheridonna's Beauty Salon is a traveling Salon.
We believe in empowering our clients with a thorough education on how to take control of their own hair maintenance with a hands-on approach to achieving the desired results. We stand out because of our stylist's amazing ability to make our clients look and feel special like a rock stars without compromising our work ethic. Our stylists are always on time to ensure our clients are happy. The Salon professionals are talented, respectful, and compassionate. They have over ten years of experience in the Hair & Beauty Industry. The smile on the client's face gives us great joy. Every person's life we enter we improve and help them see how beautiful and special they are. We love to connect to the community. They are the heart of our business.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Our biggest accomplishment is we decided to become the person & business we pray to see in the world. Sheridonna Fiona Wilson saw a need in the universe for a patient, kind, knowledgeable, and passionate person that is full of wisdom, tenacity, and positive light of energy to teach the next generation of Fashion Designers and Entrepreneurs. Sheridonna decided to become the bridge and the vehicle and founded Unity Fashion Institute Foundation Incorporated. Unity Fashion Institute Foundation Incorporated is a Non-Profit organization that was established in 2017, also known as (U.F.I.). U.F.I. is an educational platform that provides online and in-person courses that revolutionize the youth perspective and give them the experience to learn and develop new life skills that last a lifetime fostering creativity to thrive in life using the arts positively. U.F.I. focuses on Apparel Design, Construction, Draping, Fashion History, Fashion Illustration, Pattern Making, Tailoring, and Sewing with an emphasis on the Fashion Business and the 7 Values of Human Relations. U.F.I. is in sponsorship with Sheridonna Designs L.L.C.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
One of the hardest things that come with being a business owner is accepting all of the responsibilities, good or not so good. Asking for help, saying no, and taking a break when tired, You have to learn how to accept criticism, develop a thick skin for everything. Learn how to be patient. Not everything you desire is good for you; timing is everything. You have to dive deep within yourself and learn self-discipline, self-love, self-discovery, and self-development to become your great version. In addition, at the beginning of your journey to being a business owner, you must do it alone; at least, this is how it will be. It was like that for Sheridonna. The universe will test you to see how committed you are to yourself and your vision. The Entrepreneurship journey is not for everyone, only a chosen few with a vision and purpose. When you decide you are all in, the universe will become your best friend, your ONLY FRIEND LOL, and give you grace and favor. For example, this opportunity We have to share our story with the world. We are truly grateful.
Personally, we have decided over a decade ago and planted the seeds which we are harvesting now. Remember, the seed you plant today will not be seed the seed you harvest tomorrow, just water and nurture your baby, and it will become extremely fruitful. Be patient and have faith. If you don’t learn all these lessons I have mentioned, you will struggle. With that said, everything is in divine order. Quiet the mind, and the soul will speak. Let your wants want you. In conclusion, let the fruits of your life speak for you. Be humble.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
The top 3 tips I will give to anyone who is looking to start, run, and grow a business is first to know thy self this is key. When you know yourself, you have a custom design road map to your destination. Secondly, get a mentor that has the lifestyle, principles, work ethic, integrity, and passion just like you. Connect with them. You may need more than one, depending on how big your vision is. We have several. Your mentor will help you to navigate on the right road for you, if not, you will have a lot of pit stop, and it won't be for ice cream.
To be clear, you need help to strategize your plan. As Entrepreneur, we have a lot of ideas and just don't know how to focus. Think of your mentor as your navigation system to help you focus on what you want to be accomplished. Third, Practice self-love, invest in yourself, be authentically you, and have fun every day. I don't work, I play. Do something you love, even if you didn't get paid for it, but you will Lol. After all, you are the leading actor, writer, producer of your own film, become the superstar in your movie. I am! Will you? Go be great!!
