Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in health and fitness but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Leah Zaccaria, Owner of shefayoga Venice, located in Venice, CA, USA.
What's your business, and who are your customers?
Yoga classes, workshops, and training. Everyone 13 years old and older is welcome!
Tell us about yourself
I was a CPA for 15 years. Then I found yoga. Yoga changed my life. I opened my first studio in 2009 in Seattle, WA. My second studio in 2013, also in Seattle, WA. My third studio opened in Venice, CA March 2020, right when the pandemic hit! My mission is Community. Growth. Discovery. I want to inspire people to be free, live their truth, and connect to themselves and others through yoga.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Not only surviving but now thriving after the pandemic. I manifested my greatest dream with shefayoga Venice as one of the largest yoga studios in Los Angeles.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Staying the course of your vision. People give a lot of opinions and perspectives, and it is easy to get off track by those. It takes a ton of courage to stand for what you believe in for your service or product from your vision.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Be passionate and intentional in what you do.
- Do it for more than financial gain (and have enough money to keep it going).
- Learn from your failures, and don't give up.
