Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with June Ahern, Founder of SF Coaching, located in San Francisco, CA, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

I am an Author, Metaphysical Teacher & Coach, Paranormal Investigator, and Public Speaker.

Tell us about yourself

My career path opened up unexpectedly after a near-death experience. Nothing I could have ever imagined for myself. Soon after my NDE, I had intuitive, clear insights of people and situations with no prior knowledge. This led to careers as a psychic reader and medium, metaphysical, occult teacher and lecturer, author, and paranormal investigator seen on Amazon Prime. One of the cases in my latest book, How to Talk with Spirits, is in the process of becoming a movie. Another surprise! Each day thoughts and visions of yet, another creation to manifest - be that the next subject to teach or path for my four books. Each day my creative thoughts lighten my path. What else will be shown to me?

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My great interest in learning the tarot cards and intuitive abilities began as what I thought was a passion. Through that interest, I've accomplished successful, fulfilling careers through dedication, diligence, and trust my passionate interests were right for me. Many struggles came through developing a stable business. Continual new learning processes, publishing and marketing four books, and financial stresses, still, when I stepped onto the psychic magic carpet, I hung on. It has taken me a ride across the United States and diverse parts of the world, meeting new people to deliver my knowledge and experiences. Against quite a few financial odds, my business expanded beyond what I had ever thought. The big challenge of writing and marketing four books has me thinking; I can do this, over and over. Just like I created a satisfying, rather usual successful career through trusting I could be myself and being brave to tackle that steep road to successful fulfillment.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

Always marketing vs. finances. Can I expand? Is this the right time to expand? Will this product pay off? How to draw new clients/students? After nearly fifty years, I still face this challenge. The burden of having so many projects with deadlines and a family to care for with, too often, not enough helping hands.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Research your field to gather as much information of who has done or is doing it successfully.
  2. Form a supportive group, which can be one or more who help guide and encourage you.
  3. Take stock every so often, don't gallop too fast, look at your budget, and set your plans in steps.
