What's your business, and who are your customers?
I am the founder of two businesses: Seeley Enterprises Inc. and Infinite HERizons. Seeley Enterprises Inc. is a bespoke business design consultancy. We work with new and established entrepreneurs to make the entrepreneurial journey easier (and quicker) through individualized launch and growth strategies.
Infinite HERizons is a 501(c)3 whose mission is to create economic equity for women through entrepreneurial education and empowerment. Infinite HERizons is launching in May 2023 with the first annual 'Success Becomes Me' conference for 1400 women, with attendance available both in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and virtually. We will launch our curriculum and coaching platform in the second half of 2023.
Tell us about yourself
I believe entrepreneurship is the key to closing the wage gap and creating economic equity for women. Over 16 years as a business owner have shown me the immense economic possibilities available to women through entrepreneurship. What keeps me getting up every morning is the women I get to support because I know we're creating a new future for women everywhere. I'm here to share my knowledge, gifts, and skills to usher in a new era for women in the workforce.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
I gave my first TEDxTalk in November 2022! It was an incredible moment that allowed me to share with so many women the possibilities and opportunities available to them through entrepreneurship.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
Continuing to get up day after day after day when you can't see the results you're working towards. The truth is results take time. Too many entrepreneurs quit before the results of their hard work begin to show up. I was almost one of them. Thankfully I have stuck with it and continued to persist in my vision for over 15 years because the journey just keeps getting better and better. But when your bank account isn't where you need it to be, or people keep telling you no, or you have no idea what actions to take - it can be really difficult to keep the faith that you're on the right path. I'm here to tell you that you are. Keep going. You've got this.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Hire an expert to teach you what you don't know so you can eliminate the costly time and money expenses that come with trial and error.
- Surround yourself with a community of people doing what you're doing and aiming towards similar goals. If you don't do this, you'll be inundated with thoughts, perspectives, and mindsets of people who don't understand what you're working towards, who will inevitably instill doubt in your mind and have you questioning whether or not this is possible for you.
- Establish powerful partnerships early on in your business. Building a presence from scratch in the current market is difficult, but you can make the journey easier by leveraging partnerships and collaborations with the right people by your side.
