What's your business, and who are your customers?
ScissorsCut is a mobile application connecting beauty care professionals with families looking for in-home beauty services. We also just launched our hairline product, C&P HAIR, made with pure orange caviar oil. We love serving families with children, the most precious customers!
Tell us about yourself
Having my quadruplets at a salon was challenging as many of those businesses are not kids friendly, inexperienced hairstylists, no time spots available, etc., so I saw the lack of in-home beauty services (2019), and I decided to create ScissorsCut. Then I found out beauticians were struggling to find a job and could not run their own salons. What motivates me to continue creating these connections between families with hair stylists/nail technicians/estheticians/makeup artists/barbers are the impacts both of these parties are building with one another (win-win experience).
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
- Being nominated as one of the "Women of Influence" awards.
- Being able to hire people who want to contribute to the company's growth.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
Wearing all the hats in the business is hard at the beginning. In order to have a stable organization, we must have more than one role, the CEO, assistant, payroll, sales agent, etc.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Have a business owner mentor; this person will help you avoid unnecessary mistakes and connect you with the right resources and people.
- Make a business plan with a clear mission and purpose.
- Incorporate when ready.
