What's your business, and who are your customers?
I am a Certified Professional Life Coach with a background in counseling/therapy. My clients range from ages 16 and up. In coaching sessions, we work together on any issue that hinders them from being the best version of themselves.
Tell us about yourself
I worked as a psychotherapist for 14 years and then took some time off to raise my children. Life coaching seemed exciting to me, and I went through 7 months of intensive training, and I was hooked! What motivates me every day is sharing with my clients how to have a perspective in life that enables them to feel accomplished, happy, and healthy.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
My biggest accomplishment is that I even started a new career in my late 50s! I had no intention of doing so, but life coaching transformed my life, and I knew I had to share this energy with everyone I possibly could.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
I am a solo practitioner. Being alone without anyone to consult with or talk with on a daily basis is difficult. As a therapist, I was used to working on a team or with other professionals. Not having that support is an adjustment.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Believe you can make it happen.
- Listen to your inner voice, and be very cautious of taking advice from other people.
- Honor who you are and stay true to yourself and your values.
