What's your business, and who are your customers?

We are an HR and Leadership consulting firm that helps organizations navigate their cultural journey. Our customers typically range from 500 - 5000 employees both in the USA and globally. What they all have in common is change - and they need the help, guidance, and support from Saterman Connect to navigate their culture and people challenges and obstacles, growth and engagement opportunities, and everything in-between.

Tell us about yourself

I began my corporate career after getting my M.ED. in HR. My first job was as a consultant for Accenture in their Change Management Group. As my professional growth continued, I held leadership positions in two rapidly growing start-ups and built a learning and development consulting firm that I ran for over 20 years. I am very passionate about networking and connecting people, which led me to create (and trademark) a new type of onboarding - called beyondboarding® - which looks at talent development from pre-boarding, onboarding, and post-boarding perspective. I joined Saterman Connect about two years ago as the Chief Learning and Leadership Officer. The other two founders - Josh and Michael - have been friends and colleagues for over 20 years. I love what I do and who we work with!

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Running two consulting firms successfully, trademarking a process, and writing and publishing a leadership book Arrive.Drive.Thrive.™ with two colleagues.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Managing the business along with the sales and marketing and creating work-life balance.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Be prepared to work harder than you ever have in your life.
  2. Love what you do and who you do it with.
  3. Have fun!

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

Networking and connecting is a huge success factor to being successful - in any type of business or role you have.
