Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in health and wellness but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Sarah Aborn, Founder of Sacredly Sustained, located in Peterborough, NH, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

I have a holistic coaching practice and just published a self-healing workbook. My specialty lies in addressing a person's emotional embodiment, and I tend to attract people looking to heal and empower themselves. I often find myself magnetizing people with a history of spiritual abuse (think: growing up in a fundamentalist Christian household/church) and also those with abandonment wounding and low self-worth. We approach these imbalances with Yoga, EFT Tapping, soul retrieval, inner child work, and, when in person, massage therapy.

Tell us about yourself

I knew I wanted to help relieve suffering when I was very young and had a master plan to create a giant, loving facility for homeless people. By the time I graduated high school, I had switched gears to hands-on healing and attended Heartwood Institute in Northern California from 1996-1998. In 2007 I became a Yoga Teacher, and when my son was born in 2008, I realized I had a truckload of emotional healing to do. Eventually, I discovered EFT Tapping and Vedic Meditation. These techniques changed my life, and I have been passionate about sharing them with clients and students ever since.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Publishing UPLEVEL Self Healing has been a powerful accomplishment. I also run a gorgeous Healing Center that I founded in 2017, called SHAKTI Healing Arts. It is a beautiful, healing temple featuring seven women practitioners. It is a sheer delight to come to work each day!

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Hands down, the hardest aspect of being a business owner is prioritizing the many things I need to slay on any given day!

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. DO IT. The world sorely needs your actualized passion.
  2. SELF/SOUL CARE. You will create the most meaningful business IF, and only if your tank is full.
  3. ALLOW DUE PROCESS. I tend to want to get to the finish line straight away. It is a constant exercise to pace and be patient with myself!

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

Following my heart and leaning into what feels like my soul's mission is unbelievably rewarding and motivating. When you can discover where your genius zone is (what you excel at) and align it with what you feel the world desperately needs, it becomes an incredibly fulfilling life that takes on a potent momentum all its own.
