What's your business, and who are your customers?

My practice offers wellness services such as physical therapy, personal fitness, nutrition coaching, and ergonomic design to the busy yet motivated individual looking to live healthier and longer! We offer these services both in-person (in our two locations) and virtually across multiple states. We strive to inspire healthier living in obtainable ways.

Tell us about yourself

I opened my practice in 2016 after 15 years of working in traditional physical therapy practices. I opened the practice to provide a more holistic approach to health and fitness. Through my practice, I am able to empower my clients to reduce chronic pain, improve fitness levels, become posture aware, understand healthy eating, and manage life stressors. Being mindful of healthy living by eating right, exercising, sleeping enough, and reducing stress is at the core of my being! And I hope to encourage and empower everyone to do the same. After many years of not being mindful of my health, I found myself burnt out, stressed, and unhealthy. This business has allowed me to make changes for myself and my clients!

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

I transitioned my business model in 2020 to include virtual sessions. This pivot allowed me to reach more individuals and to be more accessible to my current clients. At the time, this was uncommon in my field, and I had to figure out all the processes, rules and regulations, and technical aspects of adding this service. And I did!

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

You are the boss, and every decision falls on you. It’s sometimes hard to know the right decisions to make, especially if it involves sacrifices or a new concept of the business. You must wear many hats and try your best with each one, even when you don’t know the best.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. If it’s your passion, go for it and don’t look back.
  2. Don’t be paralyzed by your decisions. Just make the best one you can and do it.
  3. It’s ok not to be perfect. Sometimes imperfections lead to the best innovations.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

Don’t limit yourself by “following the rules.” When you run your own business, you make the rules. Do not self-limit.
