What's your business, and who are your customers?
Founded in 2016, SanMelix is a buckwheat honey-based bioactive wound and skin care company. SanMelix is a proven winner, with our BEECure® products having universal appeal and being suitable for a wide variety of people and ailments, notably those who are searching for more natural yet effective solutions. We are the first to offer this buckwheat honey formulation and believe our products will change the lives of many by increasing overall health and happiness.
Tell us about yourself
My husband, Dr. Kenneth A. Sabacinski, is a Harvard-trained, board-certified surgeon who has been researching natural wound treatment for over 30 years. I am an entrepreneur and Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with over 25 years of C-level management experience in the service, manufacturing, distribution, government contracting, and health care industries.
Kenneth finally found a way to combine nature and science to create a patented wound care dressing and skin solutions that increase the effectiveness and level of wound and skin care with superior natural remedies. Together we established SanMelix with the goal of revolutionizing the industry on a global scale with our patented products.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
As a serial entrepreneur, I have co-founded, co-owned, and operated a variety of businesses, including a multi-location training organization that was listed on the INC 500 Fastest Growing Companies. Being part of the team that developed and brought BEECure® to make has been so rewarding. Our products have won many awards, including the Amazon choice award, Stevie Award in Health & Pharmaceuticals, American Business Awards for our BEECure R- radiation and laser skin care, and Mom’s Choice award for our After Sun Lotion. But more than that, we are genuinely HELPING people.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
We have many ideas for additional products targeting specific ailments, but growing a business takes a lot of time, energy, and funds. There are so many moving parts, from R&D to marketing to sales.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Raise more capital than you think you need.
- Be laser-focused on what you need to accomplish.
- Develop and maintain relationships in your industry sector.
