What's your business, and who are your customers?
I am a dog trainer, providing dog and service dog training services. My clients are dog owners who want to train their dogs.
Tell us about yourself
I got started with dog training when I got my dog, Korey. I owner-trained him to be my Diabetic Alert Dog. I was so inspired working with him that I decided to become a certified dog trainer and help others train their dogs. Korey is my biggest motivation and my best friend. Without him, I wouldn't be where I am today!
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
My biggest accomplishment is opening my own dog training business and starting on my own. I have so many wonderful clients that make doing what I do possible.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
One of the hardest things is truly having to do it all on my own! Balancing work, personal life, and making time for myself can be challenging, as I am still relatively new to owning a business.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Set your goals from day one! It's important to know where you want to be and how you plan to get there.
- Be patient! It takes time for things to get going and become established.
- Make time for yourself! It's challenging starting a business and having to do it all on your own. Burnout doesn't help, so make sure you take some time each week to decompress.
