Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in health and wellness but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Samantha Denäe, a certified holistic feminine wellness practitioner & counselor based in Atlanta, GA, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

I am a holistic health practitioner who creates herbal capsules, including ENtouch Womb Detox Capsules, to help assist with endometriosis and heavy periods. I also create yoni steam blends, teas, and incense. I provide yoni steams, energy body healing, and more in services. My clients are those who are looking to begin their womb healing journey by wanting to heal their life's traumas and those who are in need of energetic and body cleanses.

Tell us about yourself

My experience with Endometriosis was no small feat. For a while, I wanted to give up on trying to heal the pain it was causing me, but I'm so glad I did not. In 2014, I was diagnosed with Stage I Endometriosis, and finally, I had a name for the pain. For the next three years, I tried a plethora of birth control treatments and chemotherapy - all of which led me to have a 90-day period for nine months out of the year for four years. After being extremely sick for years, I finally decided to give up dairy, meat, and birth control to try holistic medicine. By the end of 2020, I had no endometriosis tissue growing in my body and was having normal periods with minimum cramping, a complete 180 in a year! During that time, I created my herbal womb detox capsules, received my holistic practitioner's license, and started my business.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment is and will always be being able to help many of my clients heal and/or make their period and endometriosis pain manageable or subside.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

Learning to trust the process is one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner, in my opinion. It takes time to build a business, and on that uphill climb can have pit stops of doubt and fear along the way. It's important to remember that success isn't measured in time and that being present is to embrace and enjoy the journey there.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Do not start a business where you have no interest in what you're selling. It makes it harder to sell because people can spot inauthenticity.
  2. Rome wasn't built in a day; your business won't be either.
  3. Enjoy the ride! When you make small steps to eventually big ones and look back on the progression, trust me, you'll smile.
