Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in coaching but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Samantha Bove, Founder of Samantha Bove LLC, located in San Diego, CA, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

I am the founder of ZenBoss Academy, an award-winning business school, where I passionately teach healers, coaches, and creatives to launch a profitable, purposeful business.

My clients have been able to generate six figures in their businesses, sell out high ticket retreats, quit their 9-5s, and turn their expertise into a profitable digital course.

I am also a spiritual teacher and reiki practitioner, specializing in helping people strengthen their intuition and move from fear and indecision to confidence and deep self-love. By helping them tune into the wisdom of their body and highest self, my clients have been able to manifest new careers, revenue streams, and relationships and relocate to their dream destinations.

Tell us about yourself

In my senior year of college, I became the CEO of a health food company. This role was a defining moment in my life and career. I raised venture capital for the company for about two years, about 10x our growth. My dad became very ill during this time. I was working 70 hours a week. I knew this wasn't sustainable for me because I wanted to be there for him. I decided to launch my own coaching business, so I could have the flexibility and freedom to work from anywhere. It's always been appealing to me to build a business around my life rather than life around my business. I love working with heart-centered entrepreneurs and coaching them on how to share their gifts with the world. In ZenBoss Academy, we focus on a blend of strategy and spirituality so our students can create sustainable, profitable businesses.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment as a business owner is helping my clients launch their businesses, generate six figures in their businesses, and leave their 9 to 5s.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

There is no one there to hold you to the goals and deadlines that you make for yourself. You have to have a lot of self-motivation and be honest with yourself about how hard you work. It's also important to surround yourself with as many entrepreneurs and visionaries as possible who understand the daily struggles of being a business owner.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Don't underestimate the opportunity social media has given us today. There is so much you can do for free to make a really significant income for yourself. You don't need to invest in ads, complicated sales funnels, or a higher marketing agency; you don't need fancy logos or business cards. Just start sharing your offers on social media.
  2. Get support - Entrepreneurship can be lonely, but it doesn't have to be. Join virtual groups, and find other entrepreneurs in your community. I highly recommend hiring a coach or joining a program if you can. There is nothing like being around other people who have big dreams that can hold your vision with you.
  3. Don't underprice yourself because you think no one will pay if you have a product, service, or knowledge that will save people time and significantly impact their lives, whether it be their health and wellness, their relationships, or the way that their home functions, you should be paid appropriately for your services. Also, understand you can have as many objections to an offer that sells for $10 as an offer that sells for $100 or even $1000. So think about how much time you're saving someone and how much that is worth.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

I promise you that there is a skill that you have acquired in your life that you can create a business around. Maybe you are an incredible organizer, amazing at planning trips, or navigating a gluten-free lifestyle with ease; these are all things that people are willing to invest money into, don't underestimate how powerful you are.
