Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in business development but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Samantha Geaney, owner and CEO of Sam Chase Consulting LLC., located in Cleveland, OH, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

I'm an online business coach. I help women leave toxic 9-5 jobs by showing them how to build a 6-figure/multiple 6-figure online businesses.

Tell us about yourself

I actually got laid off from a 6-figure corporate job. The events surrounding it were crazy. I never could've imagined myself getting laid off, but I also know I manifested it. I had wanted to be full-time in my business for almost two years up to that point, but I'd only ever made $500 total working for myself.

After I got laid off, I knew it was my time. I was so angry and resentful at the traditional corporate world that I made a commitment that I'd never go back. Within that same year, I had my first $25K sales month in my business, and I've kept going from there.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment is giving this gift of entrepreneurship to other women. Of course, you'll face challenges in your business, but they're so different from working in a job. A business is so fulfilling - a job is what you do to make ends meet. Everything changes when you realize that you can make more money working for yourself than for someone else. Your whole life opens up.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Mindset, mindset, mindset. There will be challenges, but that also ensures you never get bored. And once you get past a big challenge, it's like everything you want is on the other side of it. You truly get stronger - as a business owner and a person - and that equates to more money in your business.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Make the move ASAP.
  2. Invest in mentorship and learn what you need to make your business work. (sales, marketing, mindset, manifestation, etc.)
  3. Work it until it works. The only way it won't work is if you decide it won't and give up.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

If you have a desire to work for yourself, you're supposed to do that. Period. And that "itch" won't go away. I see so many people not making a move because they think entrepreneurship is scary. No, doing something that eats away at your soul every day is scary. So, make big moves, and watch your whole world change.
