What's your business, and who are your customers?
Currently, at the salon, I strictly do hair and now provide Stay Linked jewelry. We live in a really small town, so I do the clients I have and don’t usually take walk-ins.
Tell us about yourself
I have been licensed since 1992. Three children and four grandkids later, I have scaled way back on our services. The extra money is what keeps me here, but I would love to be able to sit back a delegate a few things so I could spend quality time with the grandkids.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Being debt-free is amazing.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
I have a child with a disability, and it’s hard at times to leave her knowing she is having a bad day.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Jump!!! You’ll never know if you can do it unless you try.
- The customer is always right. Be courteous!!!
- Save for the rainy days. The pandemic took most of my savings. So as I turn 54, I feel like I’m still starting over.
