What's your business, and who are your customers?
Craft moonshine made from molasses, cane, and rye. We are an exceptionally smooth and delicate spirit that is very cocktail-forward.
Tell us about yourself
I was formerly the COO of a company that made and sold baby blankets, and in 2017 I had the idea to re-invent the moonshine category, elevate it, and pay homage to this period of American History. I launched Saint Luna in 2019 in NYC and have since continued to expand.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Saint Luna continues to expand, despite navigating the global pandemic. We grew roughly 400% over last year and are very excited that we continue to get new accounts every week. This year we successfully launched in Minnesota and South Dakota, and we look forward to continuing to grow rapidly.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
As a small business owner, you have massive wins and massive losses. There is often very little in-between, and in the face of constant adversity, it's important to stay true to who you are and your values and keep charging forward.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Stay true to your vision, but always seek advice and learn from others.
- Celebrate the wins, and try not to wallow in the losses.
- Honor your team and always understand that you can't do it alone.
