What's your business, and who are your customers?
My naturopathic clinic offers treatments in a focus area dealing with individuals with Attention Disorders and Cognitive Decline, often secondary to a Post Concussive event.
Tell us about yourself
I have always wanted to change the world around me and help. My practice as a naturopathic doctor lets me have that influence on a one-on-one basis, and that is rewarding. My focus on concussions allows me to see that change in people's cognitive levels, and that is just fascinating.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Integrating together a set of research-based treatments that, when delivered with care, can generate results in patients with a post-concussion syndrome that is replicable and can be objectively assessed.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Juggling time. As a business owner separating your home life and work life is always a challenge, and that is where you need to learn to draw the lines and make the decisions. It is so easy to stay behind after work and work, and that takes away from the play.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
Do something you like. Be at it day in and day out. Turn it into a process and make it replicable so you can get others to benefit from your system.
Is there anything else you'd like to share?
In the world of entrepreneurs, there is a tendency to measure success with a narrow view of finances. But I like to define it as being able to contribute to your and others' mental, emotional, and financial progress while having the time to enjoy family and nature.
