What's your business, and who are your customers?
Massage Therapy, Reiki Healing, Retreat holding. I have all kinds of customers. Some come for physical healing, and some for emotional and energetic healing. I work a lot with Mothers specifically.
Tell us about yourself
I enjoy working for myself because I have the freedom to do my work exactly how I want to. I first became fascinated with anatomy when I suffered a physical injury in my early 20's. Then after having two children, I became interested in postpartum care and energy work. So, I then studied Reiki for another ten years. I just enjoy learning new things and expanding my practice.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
I just think making it happen! It's hard to believe in yourself and easy to give up. But, it feels so good seeing a business flourish.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
It can be lonely owning your own business. It's important to have friends and bounce ideas off of others. Know your strengths. You can't be good at everything. I'm not good a marketing, but I accept that about myself. I'm good at other things.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
Network and have a friend in your industry. Remember, it is not a competition with others. Simply offer your unique gifts in a way that no one else does, and you'll find your market!
Is there anything else you'd like to share?
Just keep going. Believe in your vision and be willing to change and adapt and make mistakes.
