Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Rupanjan Hari, a software developer based in Kolkata, West Bengal, India.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

I am a software engineer by profession. I do freelancing as a small-time business. It is not a "business" yet, as of now. I work on small projects that can make others' lives a little easy. If you need a solution to a real-life problem that requires technical expertise, I can be your go-to guy. I can consult, and if possible, I can work on a technical solution too, in exchange for a fee depending on the size of the problem.

Tell us about yourself

It started just as a hobby aside from having a full-time job. Now, It has kind of grown into me. I can work on new projects every few months, which even shuns my skills as a software developer. Every problem is different than the other. Thus, making better use of time and that is what motivates me more to keep doing this.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

I have helped single entrepreneurs and big companies to achieve their goals without putting a hole in their pockets. I have worked on teams with people who are better than me and have learned a lot from them. These are my greatest accomplishments till now, respect and knowledge.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

One of the hardest things for a single business owner is managing time. Having a proper balance between work and life is difficult.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
