Method and Metric is a full-service SEO agency. We help companies and organization better market their website online and help them understand the technical and marketing challenges facing their website.

What's your background and motivation to grow as a solopreneur?

I have always had a passion for entrepreneurship and creating something new. It's that urge that still drives me to help others who are putting things out into the world.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Bootstrapping my business from day one.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a solopreneur?

I would say managing a variety of personalities has to be one of the hardest things.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run or grow a small business today?

1. Be tenacious but patient. People often need a nudge, but don't want to be bombarded.
2. Tell everyone you know. Word of mouth is huge, especially when starting out.
3. Hire people who have complementary skills to yours, but who are also great with customer service.

If there was one thing you could do repeatedly to help grow your business, what would it be?

Get every prospect to 'yes' to the proposal ;)

What are some of the things you put in place to maintain a healthy work/life balance and to keep it all together?

Regular office hours and taking spontaneous days off when I'm starting to feel burnt out.

Who are some of your favorite entrepreneurs? Do you have any must not miss business resources that you'd recommend?

The entrepreneurs that I admire are the ones that prioritize building a lasting, sustainable business over continuously hustling.

I think the most successful entrepreneurs are the ones that have a good understanding of the wider world, so I tend to read books about culture and human behavior.

The secret to building a successful business lies in your ability to continuously learn and optimize your business offering.
