What's your business, and who are your customers?
My work is helping business leaders with ongoing mastery of presenting and speaking skills. This covers a wide range of services, from transforming an online class to add audience engagement to developing confidence in giving a promotional webinar to strategizing how to nail the perfect keynote or all-hands presentation.
Tell us about yourself
I've been a technical trainer, speaker, performer, and teacher for over two decades. In January of 2022, I shifted my business to provide direct consulting and coaching services for leaders looking to transform their presenting and speaking performance.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
My biggest accomplishment has been developing a strong network of talented people to help grow my business and provide my clients with the best possible results.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
The hardest thing is the shift that needs to happen mentally. You will need to take and keep taking leaps of faith in your mission. You have to have more faith in yourself and what you have to offer than everyone else. That means you need to get your head in the game every day. It's a different way to live.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- If possible, grow a savings pool before you make the leap.
- Find and work with coaches who will address the skills you most need to work on.
- Work in your area of genius most of the time and hire people for their areas of genius as well.
Is there anything else you'd like to share?
Develop a strong network of peers. Community is vital for this kind of work. Make and nurture connections with others who know what it takes to go on the journey you're on.
