What's your business, and who are your customers?
Rockin'Blinks is a brand dedicated to helping families establish healthy sleep habits for their children. We offer sleep consulting services for parents with young children, and we have a new sleepwear collection that includes sleep tips by age with the products. Our customers are parents with young children looking to improve the quality of their family sleep. We work with children from 0 to 8 years old, and our collection offers a range of beautiful Pima cotton items for this age group.
Tell us about yourself
Becoming a mother rocked my world upside down. I struggled a lot during the early newborn months, and I realized that it was difficult for new parents to understand baby sleep and how to establish healthy sleep habits at home best. I got certified as a Pediatric Sleep Consultant by the Family Sleep Institute, and years later, I launched a Rockin'Blinks collection as a new channel to help families access the essential sleep tips that any parent should know to help their children get better sleep.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
The balancing act of motherhood + being a business owner feels like a daily accomplishment each day.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
It can feel a little lonely sometimes and overwhelming when there is so much to do and little help to do it. I still dream about having a better team! As a small brand also struggling with a budget for marketing and advertising, it's also challenging as things take longer to achieve.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Talk with others in the business and think in collaborative ways you can work with other brands. Rather than seeing everyone as a competitor, I see great opportunities when working with other brands in the same business. There are great platforms that will help you find ways to collaborate, like giveaways, sharing content, or even creating a product together.
- Don't waste time scrolling on social media. It can feel overwhelming, and spending too much time seeing what others do can take a lot of time away that would be better used doing something more useful.
- Don't give up! When starting, it can feel like you just want to give up for many days. Be patient and give things time to happen.
