Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Robyn Graham, a certified brand strategist and business coach based in Doylestown, PA, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

Using my Purpose to Results™ Method, I work with impact-driven women to start and grow a business with simplicity, ease, and grace without relying on social media. My clients are typically over 40 and are ready to move away from corporate to further explore their purpose in a more meaningful way and to feel more fulfilled. It's never too late to start a new journey, especially if you want to have a more meaningful impact while making money.

Tell us about yourself

My journey is very linear per se; however, every part of it led me right to where I am today, helping women in the way I do. I began my career journey as a doctor of pharmacy. After working in corporate and then consulting for many years, I decided to follow my passion and become a professional photographer. I focused on headshot and branding photography and, as a result, realized how many women lacked a solid foundation for long-term success - a personal brand and a brand marketing strategy. I began consulting on image use and how to build a strong personal brand to become more visible as an expert. From there, I took certification courses in branding, studied under Marty Neumeier, and became a certified brand strategist. I also became a certified master Christian life coach. Through my own journey of navigating anxiety and mindset barriers, I now also coach my clients around mindset and beliefs so that they can achieve higher levels of success and have more impact.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment is seeing my clients "graduate" with a solid foundation for long-term success - owning businesses that they are proud of and are already thriving. Watching their confidence soar is absolutely priceless. Secondly is the publication of my book, "You, Me, and Anxiety: Take Action Over Anxiety to Enjoy Being You," and the third is achieving a top 1% globally ranked podcast.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

The answer to this question is multi-fold. The online world is very distracting, and business owners often get side-tracked, thinking they have to do what everyone else is doing or comparing themselves to others. The result is limiting beliefs, doubt, lack of patience, and procrastination. We have each had a journey with experiences that led us to our unique abilities to now help others who need what only we can provide the way we provide it. But when you are a business owner and in the trenches, so to speak, you may forget about the incredible gifts you have that make you unique and allow you to be exactly who you are meant to be using the gifts that you have been given to fulfill your purpose. Being aware of your uniqueness and not allowing yourself to be influenced by others is hard but definitely achievable.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

The top three tips I would give anyone starting a business today are one, build a solid foundation first withing trying to rely on social media to avoid distractions. Once the foundation is built, use social media to build relationships and have fun. Second, hire the help you need, either a strategist, coach, or assistant. You don't know what you don't know, and having an extra set of eyes on your to-do list or your business and mindset as a whole will allow you to have a meaningful impact and make money faster. And third, journal and practice gratitude daily to gain or maintain a positive mindset. Your beliefs and thoughts determine your results.
