Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in personal development but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Roberto Williams, founder of Life Mastery Group, located in Canton, MS, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

The Life Mastery Group provides services to the people of the world that covers every aspect of life, whether it’s life issues, goal setting, mental health, marriage, relationships, family issues, self-realization, motivational speaking, keynote speaking, mentorship, financial strategies, business startup, business credit, personal credit repair, and etc. to make an impact in the lives of every person in the world.

Tell us about yourself

As a Barber/Stylist of 18 years, I had a self-realization moment when I started to see that I’ve helped every client that has sat in my chair with a personal issue. It showed me that I’m a person that makes someone comfortable enough to express themselves without judgment. Throughout this time, I’ve wholeheartedly felt that there was more to my life than just being a Barber/Stylist, and with the help of a coach/friend, I realized that I’d been someone’s life coach for many years. I’ve helped everyone in many aspects of their lives, and that motivated me to want to make an impact on the world using my gift and living my purpose.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

The look on the face of a client of mine who was having suicidal thoughts came to me with the brightest smile on their face to let me know that, through our sessions, their life has made a turn for the better, and they are making tremendous progress in attaining their goals, and the moment I saw a client open their eyes and mind to realizing that they need to seek professional help. Although I don’t diagnose people, I can help them to understand that their issues go deeper than the services I provide, and I can recommend a professional to dig deeper into the mind of my client. That session gave me the feeling of exuberance and confidence to know that I’ve made an impact on someone’s life.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Marketing is by far the most difficult thing for a business owner for me. I’m not a tech-savvy person, and with social media being one of the biggest marketing tools to use, I find myself having trouble getting myself out there to put the world on notice. I’m getting better at it every day, though.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Put GOD first and let HIM lead the way.
  2. START!!! Don’t procrastinate. Allow yourself to do at least one thing a day to get yourself started towards reaching your ultimate level of success.
  3. Get business credit. It’s tough to get started on your business when you lack capital. Business credit helps businesses to grow as the owner deals with the rigors of the world while trying to market and grow their business(The Life Mastery Group provides business credit services as well)(shameless plug lol).

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

Leonardo DaVinci stated,” One can have no greater mastery than mastery of oneself,” and that message stands to this day for me, and I want to help the world live that message.
