What's your business, and who are your customers?
Rob Floyd Entertainment is a Global Beverage and Entertainment Company. We work with Fortune 100 companies looking to increase global scalability, recognizing macro trends and optimizing them in a micro execution or roll out. This year alone, my beverage partners will do over half of a million in sales.
Tell us about yourself
I was a single parent of 2 kids, and I had no way even to buy diapers. After figuring out my goals in life, I realized my core was to make people happy. Working in the hospitality industry and doing it right always put a smile on people's faces.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
I think my biggest accomplishment is taking a cocktail experience or live theatre show and making it scalable from 6 people in 2001 to having over 8000 performances in 2019.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Having to be able to change on a dime. We all learned that during the pandemic and how we changed from there, we decided if we were going to sink or swim.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Have a clearly defined vision and timetable.
- Even when rejection rears its ugly head, believe in yourself! Embrace it; rejection is the most honest feedback you will ever get!!
- Be completely outrageous! When I was in the 8th grade, I moved to a new town and went to a new school, and I did not know anyone. I nominated myself for class president, and I won! Who does that? Just shows that as long as you have fun and are completely outrageous, you can accomplish anything!
Is there anything else you'd like to share?
Be kind and positive! Just know that whatever you focus on always comes back to you. Be loving and kind, give back and take care of others. It makes it even more rewarding.
