What's your business, and who are your customers?
I provide outsourced CFO and business advisory services to small and mid-size companies.
Tell us about yourself
Prior to my current consulting business, I spent many years in the corporate world working for a large, multi-national company, followed by over 10 years as a small business owner of a building products company. After selling my business, I knew I wanted to help small businesses and entrepreneurs to improve their businesses and achieve their goals. I saw the role of a CFO Advisor as the ideal way to bring my big company training, small business ownership experience, and strong financial background to help other business owners.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Versatility. I have helped clients in many different industries with many different challenges.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
Total responsibility. You have to make things work, usually with limited resources.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Know your WHY (what is your motivation to be a business owner?).
- Begin with the end in mind (what is your desired outcome from owning the business?).
- Make the business more than You (build a team of inside and outside resources to support your vision).
